The Pygmy Date Palm ( Phoenix Roebelenii) is native to Southeast Asia. The Pygmy Date Palm is a common all over Laos, Vietnam, Thailand, Northeast India, South China and Burma.  Phoenix Roebelenii grows abundantly in the tropical forests, river banks and clearings in these areas.

The Pygmy Date Palms grows singly or in groupings to a height of 5-10 feet. They tolerate standing water and soggy soils of the river banks and clearings in Southeast Asia.
